Ministry is Trying Best to Fullfill Lacking Manpowers in Hospitals: Minister Paudel

Health and Population Minister Pradeep Poudel has said that the ministry is ready to meet the shortage of manpower in hospitals across the country.

Talking to reporters in Chitwan, he said that the ministry has started homework to meet the shortage of manpower. Minister Paudel said that the government is preparing to conduct MBBS in hospitals with at least 300 beds and nursing classes in hospitals with 200 beds.

He said, ‘On the basis of the current needs, the ministry has proposed to meet the minimum manpower for the ONM survey.’ He said that for the time being, homework has been started on providing minimum manpower to one/one federal hospital in 6 provinces. Minister Paudel said that the government will solve the problems of doctors and health workers and implement the decisions it has made.

He said that he will proceed after discussing with the doctors and health workers and implement the decision. He said, ‘We have tried to organize the daily working hours of the doctors, the issue of conducting outpatient services on public holidays is not meant to be said on Saturdays as well. Such holidays are 24 days in a year. We are working on how to manage those days.’
