The National Affairs and Coordination Committee of the National Assembly has suggested to the government to increase the number of wards and reduce the number of municipalities. According to the committee, if this is done, it will help in reducing the administrative expenses.
Currently, there are 753 municipalities and 6,743 wards in Nepal. The National Affairs and Coordination Committee of the National Assembly visited all the seven provinces and studied the interrelationship and coordination between the three levels of government. The related study report has been submitted to the National Assembly on February 17th.
