The Nepal Police has released a security plan targeting the great festivals of Nepalese Dashain, Tihar and Chhath. On Friday, the Nepal Police organized a press conference and announced the plan to provide security from Khasi Bazaar to the ticket counter during this festival.
SSP Vasant Rajourey of District Police Complex Kathmandu informed that a security plan has been implemented to protect ATM booths, jewelery shops, bus ticket counters, Khasi Bazaar, Shakti Peethas, bus parks and bus pockets during the festival.
Similarly, the police will keep 76 motorcycles ready to reach the scene immediately during the festival. The police said that those motorcycles will be kept in readiness with necessary materials.
SSP Rajourey said that there is a plan to mobilize 3,765 policemen for the security of Dasain, Tihar and Chhath festivals. “Kathmandu’s security system is tight, the police arrive within 5 minutes of any incident and a plan has been made to manage everything within 30 minutes,” he said.
Kathmandu district has been divided into 14 areas and a team of 10 people has been deployed under the command of the DSP. SP Navraj Adhikari informed that 3 days long route patrol and 1 day short route patrol will be done for festival security.
Similarly, the police has made a security plan by classifying various crimes that may occur during the festival.
