The government has started exporting 40 megawatts of electricity to Bangladesh commercially from today. Last year, 40 megawatts of electricity was exported to Bangladesh on a one-day trial basis on Kartik 30.
The Nepal Electricity Authority has started exporting 40 megawatts of electricity to Bangladesh commercially for five months from midnight last night.
The Nepal Electricity Authority has stated that from today until November 15, electricity will be exported to Bangladesh at the rate of 40 megawatts every day.
On November 10, the energy ministers of Nepal, India, and Bangladesh jointly inaugurated the virtual electricity export.
Kulman Ghising, the then Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, had taken the initiative to export electricity to Bangladesh.
The electricity exported from Nepal will reach Bangladesh through the Behrampur-Bhedamara 400 kV transmission line from Muzaffarpur to India.
