Nepalese Respiratory Society Organizes CME Program

A CME program has been organized in the capital Kathmandu with the participation of chest specialists working in various hospitals across the country.

More than 125 doctors from various districts of the country including Kathmandu Valley participated in the program.

The CME program was organized by the Nepalese Respiratory Society. The program was organized at Hotel Dushit Princess, Lazimpat, Kathmandu.

A CME program titled ‘Update on Antimicrobials’ was convened under the chief hospitality of India’s senior pulmonologist Dr. Randeep Guleria.

India’s senior pulmonologist Dr. Guleria presented a presentation titled ‘Rational Antibiotic Prescription for Respiratory Tract Infection’ in the program.

Dr. Guleria is considered a popular doctor in India. He is a Padma Shri awardee doctor. Apart from this, he has also received dozens of awards.

Currently, he is the chairman of the Department of Respiratory and Internal Medicine, Medanta the Medicity in India. Dr. Guleria is the former director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

In the CME program called ‘Update on Antimicrobials’, Director of National Tuberculosis Center Dr. Prajwal Shrestha presented informative data about the condition of fungal infection in Nepal.

The organizing organization, Secretary General of Nepalese Respiratory Society, Dr. Sanjitkrishna Shrestha informed that the organization has been organizing such programs in the past and will continue to organize them in the future.

He mentioned that such CME programs will help to increase the expertise of doctors. Also, Dr. Dr. Shrestha emphasized.
