CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has claimed that a new government could be formed with the arrival of the new year.
“There is dissatisfaction, anger, passion, and agitation from all sides. But the government is not sensitive. Not only doctors, nurses, teachers, and microfinance victims, but almost all political parties are on the streets. Even the parties in the government have started coming to the streets. The situation has become very serious and complicated. But I think the new year will bring some solution,” Prachanda said.
Prachanda, who reached his home district of Chitwan today, claimed in a conversation with journalists that the basis for the formation of a new government under the leadership of the largest party, the Nepali Congress, has been laid.
When asked by a journalist, “Is there a possibility of a new government in the new year?”, he replied, “Although his party is not focused on the government, the situation has led it towards it.”
“Our focus is not so much on the government. But the situation is developing in such a way that it is also clear that this government is not comfortable going forward. Therefore, any possibility is possible,” Prachanda said.
He claimed that he has been saying for a long time that the Nepali Congress should lead the government as the largest party and that he is not moving in that direction. He reiterated that forming a government under the leadership of the largest party would be the right thing to do.
“Last time I said it with many new experiences, don’t make me say more than this. I said it based on some new things. I think the country is going in that direction.”
He said that the country will find a way out in the new year.
