Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that programs and plans are being formulated to make the youth enterprising.
In the closing program of the Nepal Youth Conference held on the occasion of the International Youth Day, he said that the government is working to increase the pace of development with small entrepreneurship programs to provide employment to many people.
Expressing his concern over the increase in the trend of the youth going abroad due to the lack of employment opportunities in the country, the Prime Minister urged the youth to think about this as there is a risk of Nepal becoming a country of only senior citizens in the future. He urged the youth to get married in their early 20s and plan to have children early for a bright future as the population growth rate is low at present.
Adding to the incident of singing ’40 Katesi Ramaunla’, Oli said before, ‘They go abroad until they reach their age, after that the population decreases even more, after they get married and have children at the age of 20-30, they go abroad even if they want to. At least children do when they are growing up.’
Prime Minister Oli said that currently: 20 percent of citizens are below the absolute poverty line, so poverty should be reduced at the rate of two percent per year. He said that the goal is to end the situation of street children within one year, so our children will not live on the streets without parents.
