Police fired tear gas after the royalist (Rajawadi) demonstration, which began at the call of the Joint People’s Movement Committee formed to restore the monarchy, tried to move from the designated location.

The police fired tear gas after the royalist group tried to move towards New Baneshwor from Tinkune, which had been designated for the demonstration by the local administration.

The crowd also pelted stones at the police. Earlier, the police had used water cannons to control the crowd.

The royalist protest is being led by medical professional Durga Prasai. The protest is supported by royalist parties including the RPP. The Prasai faction has also taken out rallies from the Sinamangal area of ​​Kathmandu and the Bhaktapur area.
