President Vidyadevi Bhandari is scheduled to pay a two-day official visit to Bangladesh on Monday. A government official said the visit would be formally announced as soon as the next cabinet meeting sets the date. A source at the Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu said preparations were also underway. Bhandari is on her way to Bangladesh to participate in a program organized on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and the centenary of the founding father of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh is celebrating the centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with various programs for a week. Earlier, in 2018, the President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid had paid an official visit to Nepal.
