President Ram Chandra Poudel has put on hold one of the five ordinances recommended by the government. The Council of Ministers meeting held last Friday had recommended the issuance of five ordinances to the President.
The President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, has stated that the Council of Ministers, which met on Friday, recommended five ordinances, and the President has issued four of them.
The four ordinances issued by the President on Monday are the Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Relating to Promotion of Good Governance and Public Service Delivery, 2081 BS, the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2081 BS, the Privatization (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2081 BS, and the Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Relating to Improvement of Economic and Business Environment and Promotion of Investment, 2081 BS.
President Poudel has temporarily suspended the land ordinance, citing the need for study. The source informed that the President has temporarily suspended the ordinance, stating that the government needs to discuss the provisions in the land ordinance.
The Cabinet meeting on Friday decided to recommend to the President to issue an ordinance to amend some Nepal Acts related to land.
