Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Gets Vote of Confidence

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has received a vote of confidence from Parliament. He became the Prime Minister with the support of the Nepali Congress and got the support of two-thirds of the Parliament.

 

He had submitted a proposal in accordance with Rule 155 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2079 to obtain the confidence of the House of Representatives in accordance with Article 76, Clause 4 of the Constitution of Nepal.

 

According to that, the parties including Nepali Congress got two-thirds of the parliament i.e. 188 votes in his favor. 74 votes were cast against Oli. 263 people were present in Parliament today.

 

192 MPs from 7 parties and three independent MPs voted in his favor. 88 MPs of Nepali Congress and 76 MPs of CPN-UML have voted in favor of Oli.
