Qatari Government Grants Amnesty to 18 Nepalis

The Qatari government has granted amnesty to 18 Nepalis serving sentences for various crimes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the Qatari government has granted amnesty to 18 Nepalis on the occasion of Ramadan and Eid. The details of those who received the amnesty have not been made public.

The ministry issued a statement expressing gratitude to the Qatari government for the decision to grant amnesty.

“The ministry highly appreciates and expresses gratitude for this act of amnesty on humanitarian grounds as a symbol of goodwill in the bilateral relations between Nepal and the State of Qatar,” the statement reads.

The ministry has stated that the decision to grant amnesty was made following a request from the Government of Nepal through the Nepali Embassy in Doha, Qatar.
