Rekha Gupta Elected As India’s Capital Delhi New Chief Minister

Rekha Gupta has been elected as the new Chief Minister of Delhi, the capital of India.

A meeting of the legislative party held at the Bharatiya Janata Party office in Delhi on Wednesday evening announced Gupta’s name as the new Chief Minister.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “Rekha’s name was proposed by Pravesh Verma, Satish Upadhyay and Vijendra Gupta. Nine people approved her name.”

Also, Pravesh Verma will be the Deputy Chief Minister and Vijendra Gupta will be the Assembly Speaker. The Chief Minister’s oath-taking will be held at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday.
