The Kathmandu District Administration Office has banned the consumption, sale and distribution of meat, alcohol and other intoxicants in and around the Pashupatinath area during Shivaratri.
In order to make the Mahashivaratri festival 2081 a disciplined, dignified and organized, Kathmandu Chief District Officer Rishi Ram Tiwari has issued a notification prohibiting the production, sale, transportation, storage and consumption of meat, alcohol and intoxicants.
The notice also warns of legal action if this notice is violated.
The four forts include Gaushala Mitra Park Road to the east, the eastern border of Pashupati area to the west, Gaushala Tilganga Ring Road to the north, Mitra Park, Umakunda, Gaurighat to Guhyeshwori and all parts within the south.
