Minister Poudel’s announcement that human organ transplant sub-centers will be established in all seven provinces, and work will begin immediately from Koshi
Kathmandu: Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has announced that sub centers for human organ transplantation will be opened in all the seven provinces. On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day, Minister Poudel said that this matter is also included in the action plan he announced recently while honoring those who donated organs at the Sahid Dharmabhakta National Transplantation Center in Bhaktapur.
‘For human organ donation, sub-centres will be operated as branches of this center in all provinces,’ Minister Paudel said, ‘this work will be started from Koshi province immediately.’
‘This (centre) alone cannot provide services all over the country,’ he said, ‘so we have made Bhaktapur the center and are preparing to open organ transplant sub-centres in all seven provinces.’
He informed that the sub center will be opened soon in Koshi and said that the preparations are going on so that the work will be started soon in other provinces as well.
Mentioning that services could not be provided as desired due to limited manpower, infrastructure and resources, Minister Poudel pledged to make the existing manpower and resources more active and work to provide more benefits to the people.
Minister Poudel said that he would take the proposal to the Council of Ministers for transfer to Suryavinayak, saying that there had been complaints of problems due to the narrowness of the center in Bhaktapur. I am not saying this to be a stunt, Minister Paudel said, this is a necessity. We manage in terms of infrastructure, manpower and equipment.
Minister Paudel also said that he is committed to take necessary initiatives to increase equipment and manpower to the hospital.
