Cancer treatment service is going to start at Surkhet Provincial Hospital.
After BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital Bharatpur signed an agreement to extend its services to Surkhet Provincial Hospital, now cancer treatment will start in Surkhet as well.
On behalf of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital Bharatpur, Executive Director Dr. Shivji Paudel and Director Dumbar Khadka signed the agreement on behalf of Surkhet Provincial Hospital.
Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel approved the National Cancer Control Strategy 2024-30 when he assumed office on June 31. Which had the goal of expanding cancer treatment services to all seven provinces.
After that, on July 27th, Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel announced that he would expand cancer treatment services in all seven provinces while announcing his plans and priorities.
In the agreement, it is mentioned that BP Koirala Memorial Hospital should provide services including external, internal and medical treatment at Surkhet Provincial Hospital.
Similarly, Surkhet Provincial Hospital has to provide necessary infrastructure in the agreement.
Earlier, BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital has signed an agreement with Koshi Pradesh Hospital for this service.
