The third round of talks between the government and the Biplav group has started on Thursday morning. After two rounds of talks on Wednesday morning and evening, the two sides are engaged in dialogue for the third time today. According to sources close to Baluwatar, the group’s political agenda will be discussed in the ongoing discussions. The government on Wednesday said it was in favor of releasing the banned Fukuwa and imprisoned leaders and activists. The negotiating team of the Biplav group has been told to hold a cabinet meeting soon and lift the ban. The members of the negotiating team have already talked to General Secretary Biplav about the proposal from the government. On behalf of the government, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ and Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister Rajan Bhattarai are in the team while Khadga Bahadur Vishwakarma, spokesperson of the underground Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) is in charge of the talks.
