Tribhuvan International Airport will operate 16 hours a day from Saturday.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has stated that the airport’s operating hours will be increased by two hours daily with 60 percent of the physical progress of the work near the 75-meter runway, out of the three projects being implemented as part of the infrastructure expansion.
The airport had been closed for 10 hours daily from 10 pm to 8 am since last Kartik 23. Starting today, it will open at 7 am and operate until 11 pm. 60 percent of the work near the runway has been completed in three months.
It is said that the airport may be fully operational before Chaitra 18, as the main complex work related to the runway has been completed after the airport itself was closed.
