Private and public schools will be given leave two days a week from Jestha 1.

A meeting of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology held on Wednesday has decided to give two days off to private and public schools on Saturday and Sunday of the week.

According to the spokesperson of the ministry, Deepak Sharma, the provision of half leave on Friday has been removed. However, private and public schools will be completely closed on Saturday and Sunday, he said.

The ministry meeting has reduced winter, rainy, local or festive holidays. Now it has been decided to give leave only 30 days in a year.

Earlier, government schools were given 45 days of winter and year leave. Similarly, the government had been giving leave for 50 days a year for local festivals.
