Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has decided a 9-point program to make the services of hospitals effective. After discussions with the ministry staff and hospital heads, Minister Paudel decided to operate OPD services in two shifts. The ministry issued a circular to hospitals and establishments on Friday to implement the decision.
Minister Paudel has made various decisions saying that some departments of the hospital have five or more units, but there is a shortage of doctors in OPDs and surgeries even though there are enough doctors.
Here Are points of the letter;
- It is mentioned that the OPD service will be conducted in two shifts in Hospital depending on the number of patients and available resources.-
- Similarly, implement extended hospital service according to the procedure related to operation of extended hospital service program, 2077
- Subject to be revised in the procedure of suggestions received
- Timing of doctor’s rounds, patient admissions, discharges of patients to end the situation of not being able to be admitted without a bed.
- The ministry will effectively manage the unit, keep all the drugs provided by the health insurance program in the insurance pharmacy of the hospital and provide continuous and uninterrupted service
- Adding a service counter for the management of the customer crowd in the hospital, online ticketing, online time management (informing the time according to the token number), electronic payment system
- In order to remove the obligation of the client to wait for the head of the hospital even for general work, arrange for delegation of authority by the head of the hospital to the head of the department and others
- If there is no information about where the services of the hospital are available, there will be a disorderly crowd of patients in the hospital. In order to solve this problem, a map should be posted so that everyone can see it or volunteers should be mobilized and arrangements should be made for inquiries, help rooms, complaints hearing, drinking water and clean toilets
