Indian Government will Help to Establish Centre for Snakebiten Patients: Minister Paudel

Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has said that the Government of India will support the establishment of a treatment center for snakebite patients.

Health Minister Paudel said this while holding a press conference at the airport after returning from the regional meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO). He said that the Indian Health Minister has promised that India will facilitate the construction of a treatment center for the treatment of snakebite in Nepal.

Health Minister Paudel said that he had a meeting with the Indian Health Minister during the regional meeting. In the meeting, VP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan said that efforts have been made to end the situation that has been stopped due to the expiry of time between the works being done in cooperation with the AIIMS Hospital which is being operated by the Government of India.

He said that a verbal agreement was expressed between AIIMS and VP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, to maintain the previous agreement.

Health Minister Paudel said that there was a discussion about how to make the ongoing programs in Nepal more effective by coordinating with WHO and developing the Communicable Disease Center in Hetauda as a research center with the support of WHO. The regional director of WHO has also expressed his commitment to make the infectious disease center effective.
