SAFF Women’s Championship: Nepal Wins with 6-0 Against Sri Lanka

In the SAFF Women’s Championship, Nepal won a great victory over Sri Lanka. With this, Nepal has become the group winner. Nepal defeated Sri Lanka 6-0 in the match at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar. In the previous match, Bhutan defeated Maldives by 13-0, so Nepal needed at least a 6-0 victory.

For Nepal, Rekha Paudel scored two goals and Savita Ranamar, Savitra Bhandari, Amika Karki and Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored one goal each. With this, now Nepal and India will meet in the semi-finals. Nepal and India and former winners Bangladesh and Bhutan will play in the group stage. Bangladesh and Bhutan will play in the first semi-final. The first semi-final match will be played at 1:30 PM.

Nepal and India will play in the second semi-final. The match will be played on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm. Both semi-final matches will be held on the same day. In the previous edition too, these four teams met in the semi-finals.
