An interaction program with journalists on consumer safety organized jointly by the Nepal Association of Economic Journalists (NAFEJ) and Salt Trading Corporation has concluded. The program was held at Everest Hotel in Baneshwor, Kathmandu on Monday.
Addressing the program, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari said that Salt Trading Corporation (STC) has made a significant contribution to the marketing of products produced from indigenous crops. He also said that STC has also played an important role in the trade and supply of essential goods.
Similarly, he said that the company has helped control inflation by operating fair price shops during festivals like Dashain and Tihar. He said that STC had improved the supply of sugar during the last Dashain and prevented a possible shortage. “We are discussing how we can facilitate this by working closely with this organization to manage the supply chain.” It is working as an important business organization implementing the government’s policy,’ he said, ‘We will help solve various problems seen in the supply chain.’
Similarly, Urmila Shrestha, CEO of Salt Trading Corporation, thanked all the representatives present at the interaction program and informed that this industry has made a significant contribution to the industrialization of Nepal. She said that Salt Trading Corporation has been giving special emphasis to improving the quality of goods and the problems seen during its establishment.
CEO Shrestha said that Salt Trading has been producing goods according to the feedback and choice of consumers and said, ‘Salt Trading has been paying special attention to the feedback of consumers. This organization has been providing goods and services to the common people in remote areas of Nepal even during times of disaster and festivals. And it will always help in the future too.’
She informed that this organization itself is also a consumer, so it will be more careful.
