Sohail Tanvir Becomes First Player in NPL to Take 5 Wickets in a Game

With the deadly bowling of Pakistani bowler Sohail Tanvir, Kathmandu Gurkhaz have given a modest target of 112 runs to Chitwan Rhinos in the Nepal Premier League (NPL). Batting after losing the toss at the University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu could only add 111 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.

Tanveer took five wickets to stop Kathmandu cheaply. Tanveer became the first player to take five wickets in a single NPL match. He gave only 21 runs.
Captain Kushal Mall, Amar Rautela, Luke Martin Benkenstein and Rijn Dhakal took one wicket each.

Sumit Maharjan’s 29 runs were the highest for Kathmandu. Michael Levitt added 25 runs. Shankar Rana scored 16 runs.

Dan Douthwaite remained not out for 19 and Dipesh Kandel for 1 run. Bhim Sarki, Karan KC and Sahab Alam returned to the pavilion for 1 run.
